In Memory of Ronald McKindsey

Ron McKindsey
He never missed an opportunity to get together with club function or just jump in the pool for a splash.

Although not all of you knew him, Ron was a new but avid scuba diver. He never missed an opportunity to get together with club function or just jump in the pool for a splash. Ron passed of a heart attack while diving on Vancouver Island on the May long weekend, 2005. He will be missed at all club events and dives.

RONALD McKINDSEY Beloved husband and father passed away unexpectedly while diving at Denman Island, BC. Ron was predeceased by his mother Elizabeth and is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years, Sandra, daughter Meaghan, of whom he was immeasurably proud, father John McKindsey, sister Joan (John) of Fabreville, Quebec and brother Doug (Sophie) of Montreal. Ron was born in Montreal and served in his youth with the Canadian Navy as a communicator. He was later trained as an EMT and used those skills several times in his private life to come to the aid of those in need. He moved to Calgary in 1982 and worked at the Foothills Hospital, Handibus and most recently Shoppers Drug Mart where he so enjoyed his co-workers and his contact with customers. Ron loved wood working, home renovation, gardening, cars, terrible puns and animals. He was especially excited about his new hobby, scuba diving which afforded him the opportunity to be close to the water he loved. He was a caring, loving man and a loyal friend, always willing to lend a hand, an ear or a tool. He will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Ron's life will be held at the Lakeview Community Center, 6110-34th Street SW, Calgary, Alberta on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron's memory may be made directlty to the STARS Air Ambulance, P.O. Box 570, 1441 Aviation Park NE, Calgary, Alberta, T2E 8M7.
